Details and Devils

Uh oh:

Algeria's Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci said on Tuesday an Arab League committee charged with seeking an end to the violence in Syria had reached agreement with Syrian authorities, Al Arabiya television reported.

Al Arabiya gave no further details. Syrian officials contacted by telephone had no immediate comment on the report.

As the article notes, the Arab League wants to "end bloodshed in Syria." They aren't there to press for freedom for Syrians. They probably just don't want to be humiliated by a Turkish military intervention that overthrows an Arab ruler. Assad can go along with all that.

Really, it isn't a shock that a dictator and the dictators' protective society can come to an agreement. Syria's dissidents probably won't have a say in the details.
