Aside from the hubris that the Obama administration came into office with, convinced that their moral superiority would allow them to attract allies with ease, the distinction between "smart diplomacy" and "rock-pounding stupidity" regarding our best ally is beyond me.
From Instapundit this news of deft "restoring our relations abroad:"
British military chiefs are being ejected from US meetings about Syria in the first direct consequence of David Cameron’s refusal to join military action.
The role of senior British officers based at US Central Command in Tampa, Florida, has been downgraded because they cannot be trusted with high-level intelligence about a conflict with which they are no longer involved, military sources say.
How petty. And short-sighted. And wrong. We should welcome even planning help that British officers can provide.
At this rate we'll have had more allied support in Vietnam than we will over Syria.
No worries. Who needs Britain? I'm sure Argentina will step up instead.
Of course, a majority of British people practically ached to have Barack Obama become our president. Enjoy.
