It isn't often that we might want to send a thank you note to jihadis for killing an American, but I think we can make an exception this week.

With jihadi friends like these, who needs Predators?

A prominent U.S.-born Islamist militant was killed in Somalia on Thursday, witnesses said, after he fell out with the al Shabaab rebel group's top commander.

So send them a thank you note.

And then, just for the humor value alone, we should mount a cruise missile strike on the Shabaab group that killed Omar Hammami just to make the point that jihadis can't get away with killing any American anywhere.

I think we could use a little more of that lesson these days.
