A French magazine ridiculed the Prophet Mohammad on Wednesday by portraying him naked in cartoons, threatening to fuel the anger of Muslims around the world who are already incensed by a video depicting him as a lecherous fool.
The drawings in the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo risked exacerbating a crisis that has seen the storming of U.S. and other Western embassies, the killing of the U.S. ambassador to Libya and a deadly suicide bombing in Afghanistan.
I do protest that the crisis isn't being fueled by new cartoons.
The crisis is being fueled by psychotic nutballs who shouldn't be allowed to use grown-up scissors or surf the web without parental filters turned to 11 to keep their precious, fragile egos from seeing anything disturbing.
Stop blaming the West for being free! Start blaming the Islamic world for being fertile ground for psychotic nutballs.
Thankfully, God gave us JDAMs, if the nutballery gets too out of hand.
UPDATE: Hah! We've gone back ahead of France in who is in a raging, mouth-foaming panty-twist about us:
The car of the U.S. ambassador to China was surrounded Tuesday by a small group of demonstrators who damaged the vehicle and briefly prevented it from entering the U.S. Embassy compound in Beijing.
A YouTube video of the incident showed the protesters chanting slogans such as "down with the U.S. imperialists" and, in an apparent reference to the Chinese government's purchase of U.S. government debt, "return the money!"
Not that I blame the Obama administration. After all, our president's middle name is "Hussein" and not "Hu." How on Earth are the Chinese supposed to think we're sympathetic to them without that emblem of Third World sympathy?
Anyway, nice try, France. But by all means, keep playing.
