How Responsible is This?

If we had kept 25,000 American troops in Iraq this year with a few combat brigades and fighter aircraft, we'd have something useful to say about Iraq caving in to Iranian pressure to allow the use of Iraqi territory to support Assad, which a Western intelligence report says is taking place:

Iraq says it does not allow the passage of any weapons through its airspace. But the intelligence report obtained by Reuters says Iranian weapons have been flowing into Syria via Iraq in large quantities. Such transfers, the report says, are organized by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. ...

It added that Iran was also "continuing to assist the regime in Damascus by sending trucks overland via Iraq" to Syria.

Thank goodness President Obama "responsibly" ended the war in Iraq by running out the moment the bell sounded.

UPDATE: Iraq will at least stop non-Iranian sources of weapons:

Iraq has denied permission to a North Korean plane bound for Syria to pass through Iraqi airspace on Saturday because it suspects it could be carrying weapons, a senior official said on Friday.

It's funny, Iran and North Korea helping a minority Baathist Arab government. It's almost like it's an Axis of Evil, or something.

Nah. Can't be. That was just the simplistic Bush-era thinking and now we have nuance and almost four years of repairing our international reputation. It's like an Axis of Reset, or something.
