Seriously?

The United States Army is linking to a Workers World article to explain deployments to 35 African countries? Are you freaking kidding me?

Did the motto across the banner reading "Workers and Oppressed Peoples of the World Unite" not ring any alarm bells at Stand-To!?

Or does the Army really want us to understand the context of America being in the final stages of imperialism, so the glorious days of True Communist paradise is within reach?

I have only one thing to ask our Army: Just who won the World Series in 1953?

UPDATE: It's nice to know people occasionally read this stuff. A regular reader with enough credibility to raise the issue with the Army's public affairs officer did so by noting the problem of citing a hard leftist site for news of interest to the Army.

I can't be too hard on Stand-To! since they once linked to one of my posts some years ago (but I can't find it. So it must have been many years ago). Apparently, I'm just getting old since I actually remember the Soviet Union, the threat of communism, and that whole Cold War thing (and enlisted then).

UPDATE: That reader reports a success for sanity. The Army took down the link. In an age when Hollywood can make a series about Soviet espionage in America and the Soviets are the good guys, this type of vigilance is not making a mountain out of a mole hill. From little vanguards come great crimes against humanity.
