This is kind of funny:
China rebuked U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Monday for her public backing of Japan's administration over a string of uninhabited islands in the East China Sea which are at the centre of a messy dispute between China and Japan.
Clinton, speaking after meeting Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida, repeated the long-standing U.S. position that Washington acknowledged the islands were under Japan's administration, raising China's ire.
I know I don't expect much from this administration, but do the Chinese think we wouldn't even support a formal ally in a dispute with China? Did they get a promise of flexibility, too?
What is even the point of China complaining about Clinton? She's on the way out, as is Panetta at the Department of Defense. Are the Chinese unaware that President Obama has selected a surrender duo to take over State and Defense?
I keep hearing how the Chinese are such long-range thinkers and how patient they are. If China can't even wait a couple months to get more pliable foes, that whole patience thing is obviously overblown.
