The European Union's reach for an "ever closer union" never lets a crisis go to waste.
Huh:
The European Union "must now move into war economy mode," its defense policy chief said Thursday, as the war in Ukraine forces Europe to ramp up its security and defense industries.
The entire point of EU-Russia talks is to make it seem as if the European Union itself is a sovereign entity to negotiate for all of the for-now sovereign states that belong to the EU.
Such diplomacy only cares about the process that elevates the EU and not the actual topics under discussion.
By such measures the proto-imperial EU begins to erase the prefix and eliminate American influence through NATO by weakening NATO. Neither America nor Europeans should want that[.]
Every additional power adds up until the EU becomes "self aware", eh?
Don't be paranoid TDR, you say, the EU is sincere in wanting to solve the Russia problem!
Say, how about that European Commission "annual strategic foresight report"?
The overarching idea is that the EU needs to beef up its autonomy as the golden age of globalization comes to an end.
Oh.
Another year, another rationale for the same objective that has existed since the EU was the European Economic Community.
Don't be fooled by the EU's pretty packaging.
The European Union fears everyone. Including its own people. You think America is immune to that animosity? Or that any particular American president is responsible for causing that animosity?
UPDATE: The EU could stay in its lane and complement NATO. But no, that's not enough for the Euros.
