The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Degrades

The Libya War can't be described as failing, really, even though we believed our initial surge of military activity would kick the door in and pave the way for Britain and France to take the lead and end the war. The problem is, after we kicked in the door nobody set foot across the threshold of war with actual boots.

So NATO bombs and blockades to convince enough of Khaddafi's supporters to abandon the loyalist side and cause the collapse of loyalist resistance.

NATO authorization to wage war expires on June 27th, and NATO has extended this for 3 more months:

NATO and its partners in the military campaign to protect Libyan civilians have decided to extend their mission another 90 days, the alliance's top official said Wednesday.

"This decision sends a clear message to the Gadhafi regime: We are determined to continue our operation to protect the people of Libya," said NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen. Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi is trying to withstand the NATO air barrage and put down a rebellion among his own people.

All 28 NATO countries had to agree to the extension. If Libya can endure under the pressure and not crack as they must for our side to win under current strategy, will NATO be able to muster unanimity in the fall to keep going?
