Being There

Krauthammer has a good piece on the dashing of hopes that the Facebook faction would emerge victorious in the Arab Spring. With Islamists of one sort or another gaining power and influence, the Arab world had more unrest ahead until it tries freedom and democracy to solve its many problems.

I still think the Arab Spring is an opportunity even though I didn't expect the Twittering class to emerge victorious in short order. Just being where they are brings hope for a better future as well as peril for a worse future.

We all need time. Spring brings both flowers and weeds. We are dealing with weeds. The Arabs may yet get a garden.
