The Battle Continues

Egypt's army let an Islamist take the presidency but denied the Islamists the chance to sit in parliament and write the new constitution. So a battle has to be fought between the old guard and the Islamists who dominate the opposition. This sure sounds like a round in that battle:

An Egyptian Islamist politician will face trial on public indecency charges after being caught in a compromising sexual act with a young woman in a parked car, the state news agency said on Thursday.

Ali Wanees is a member of the now dissolved parliament for the Salafi al-Nour party, which advocates a strict interpretation of Islam and prohibits sex outside marriage.

He was briefly detained in June after being found in the car with a university student on a deserted road in the Nile Delta, state news agency MENA said.

The media reports say she was on top of him, while wearing a full veil. He says she was a relative who was unconscious and he was trying to revive her.

My Red Cross classes were way different, is all I'll say on that.

A nose job scandal hit another Islamist.

One more, and I'll call this a trend. And if a trend, I'd be shocked if the military isn't behind it in an effort to destroy the credibility of the Islamists.
