This is tragic:
An argument over the likelihood of a zombie apocalypse becoming a reality ended with a woman getting shot in the back by her boyfriend.
According to Nassau County Detective Lt. Raymond Cote, 26-year-old Jared Gurman of Long Island had an "ongoing debate" with his girlfriend Jessica Gelderman, 27, about whether AMC's The Walking Dead could play out in real life.
The man allegedly then shot his girlfriend, who is in serious but stable condition.
But how can we place blame on this man for his crime? Can we really just assume that he is responsible for his own actions?
Personally, I blame our government for its unrelenting demonization of Undead Americans:
Along with mock terror attack exercises and disaster response drills, an anti-terrorism summit in San Diego will feature an undead twist: a zombie apocalypse training scenario.
HALO security corp. is commissioning Hollywood-worthy zombies to participate in its five-day Counter-Terrorism Summit, to be held in late October and early November on a 44-acre island in the city's Mission Bay section.
Hate speech. Pure and simple, no?
Hollywood should also be ashamed for perpetuating the government-sponsored hate with stereotyping and virtual how-to manuals for killing Zombies.
Somebody must be blamed for this. Surely it isn't as simple as blaming the shooter, is it?
