Via The Corner, fancy this:
Britain's violent crime record is worse than any other country in the European union, it has been revealed.
Official crime figures show the UK also has a worse rate for all types of violence than the U.S. and even South Africa - widely considered one of the world's most dangerous countries.
Britain's violent crime rate per 100,000 people is 2,034. By comparison:
The U.S. has a violence rate of 466 crimes per 100,000 residents, Canada 935, Australia 92 and South Africa 1,609.
Heck, we aren't even in the top 10 "league of shame"!
Huh. Canada has pretty strict gun control, too.
That's inconvenient.
It's almost as if guns don't commit violent crimes, violent criminals do. Fancy that.
I will say that comparing statistics across countries can be a problem with different standards, definitions, assumptions, and reliability. I've noted this before when speaking of statistics that show us unfavorably. I should do so again, now.
