Greyhawk notices that the anti-war Left is stirring in Congress to compel us to retreat from Afghanistan.
You didn't really believe all the Leftist nonsense about how Afghanistan is the "good war" we neglected in order to fight in Iraq, did you?
Greyhawk is confused, however, in his amazement that the anti-war side claims that we "finally" need to debate the war.
Doesn't Grayhawk realize that as far as our Left is concerned, "debate" over war can never end until our helicopters are evacuating our last diplomatic personnel ahead of an advancing enemy army about to take the capital? Debate isn't about resolving a question. It's just another tool to lose a war.
Personally, I think that once we declare war, we owe it to the military personnel we send to fight it to fight until we achieve victory. Declarations of war should not have an expiration date.
Still, it is nice to see that elements of the Left have gotten over that stifling notion that opposing President Obama is the highest form of racism. A lot of his supporters are going to have trouble with the whole question of fighting in Afghanistan.
I mean, when even the emperor of elite conventional wisdom has concluded the bloody obvious that we've achieved something good in Iraq, what's a good leftist to protest if not Afghanistan?
