I've been meaning to take Mister to a University of Michigan hockey game the last couple of years. I couldn't find a convenient day, unfortunately (school nights are basically out). So I was pleased to get an email from the alumni association letting me know that tickets for CCHA games against Lake Superior State University were available this weekend. After asking Mister if he was interested, I called up for tickets on Friday and we watched the Wolverines on ice beat LSSU 6-0. We were right behind Michigan's home net (so probably were on TV, actually, I'd guess:
We didn't have proper hockey garb, so had to rely on our football gear to support the maize and blue. It was interesting to hear the hockey cheers at Yost, which were different from the football cheers.
And the band was there! Well parts of it. I guess I kind of assumed that the band played football games and when the season is over, that's it for them. Do they play at wrestling matches, too? What other teams do they back up?
Anyway, it was a fun game to watch and I hope we'll get to others.
And we really need to catch soccer, too. Going to all the home football games last season made it too difficult to find a home game we could go to.
We still have a couple Red Wings games to go to this year that we can look forward to.
