Constructive Groveling

The Touchy Religion is angry at Sweden. You'd think they must have dispatched troops to Iraq or something, but no, one of their cartoonists struck.

The Swedes rolled into action to defuse the potential row and any attendant head loppings that the offended might indulge in:

Sweden's prime minister and envoys from 22 Muslim nations held talks Friday that both sides termed as constructive to defuse a row over a newspaper cartoon depicting Prophet Mohammed as a dog.

The prime minister is involved with a a row over a cartoonist's work. And envoys from 22 Moslem nations are interested. The article says the Swedes are explaining that they have freedom of speech and so there is nothing to do, but why should this even rise to the level of governmental interest? Why accept the Moslem view that this is something horrible that the head of government must address?

Good grief, mail them so 10% off coupons for IKEA and tell them to get a life.

Why is their sensitivity our problem? In what world does this make any sense at all?
