A Killing Spree Prevented

Thank you, Germany.

The Germans stopped a major terrorist attack described as massive and imminent. It was directed at Americans in Germany at a military base, an airport, and night clubs.

But why strike on German soil where Germans would likely die, too? Germany opposed the Iraq War and only fights in the "good war" of Afghanistan. Well, "fights" is too strong a word. They don't fight for fear of angering jihadis and offending Greens. But they do stand about looking grim and guarding stuff. It is sad to see the once mighty Bundeswehr reduced to this status.

So why did the jihadis decide to hit targets in Germany? Admittedly, one target was our big air base there, but it was not the only target planned or scouted. But still, inquiring minds want to know why:

Magnus Norell, at the Swedish Defense Research Agency, said while Germany's mission in Afghanistan could be a motive for a terrorist attack, a flood of other factors could also play a role.

"It could be discontent with Germany, or even western Europe as a whole. It's really not that easy as to say that this (Afghanistan) would be the reason for it."

Not that easy to say, indeed. Our enemies are not as nuanced as some of our Left likes to believe. How else do you explain this threat warning from the EU?

The European Union's top justice official said Wednesday that the threat of a terror attack remained high in the 27-nation bloc. EU Justice and Home Affairs Commissioner Franco Frattini said the EU executive would push ahead with plans to set up an EU-wide airline passenger data recording system despite privacy concerns.

"The threat of new terror attacks continues to be high," Frattini said, citing Spain, Italy, Belgium, Britain and Germany as countries where the risk has been the highest.

These are the countries at highest risk? How can this be? Spain ran from Iraq as ordered by the jihadis. Italy pulled out a while ago. Belgium makes France under Chirac look like a Neo-Con wet dream. And even Britain is on the way out in Iraq. Germany, I've noted. These are the countries in Europe under the highest threat?

It isn't Iraq that angers the jihadis. Or Afghanistan. Or Burger King ice cream lids. Or cartoons insulting their prophet. Or carrying liquor in a cab. Or women riding in cabs driven by men. Or Miss Universe contests. Or hugging. Or carbon dioxide emissions. Or refusing to surrender Spain to the caliphate.

Actually, it is all of these and much more.

Face it people, they just want to kill us for who we aren't--submissive jihadi-friendly Moslems.
