In a post about a sniper rifle for Ukraine, Strategypage notes this at the end:
The adoption of the UR-10 shows that Ukraine is willing and able to meet NATO standards and will make Ukrainian cooperation in Lithuanian–Polish–Ukrainian Brigade (LITPOLUKRBRIG) much easier. This brigade a reginal rapid reaction force against Russian threats.
Poland and Lithuania are NATO members. Ukraine is not, although it is seeking membership.
If Russia expands their war against Ukraine and the joint brigade is committed to combat in Ukraine, is NATO's Article V triggered at some point between a Polish soldier dying and Russia directly attacking Poland?
I noted a similar issue with a Danish (NATO)-Swedish (non-NATO) defense agreement in this weekend data dump.
UPDATE: A picture of sort-of-NATO in action in the north. That would provide some needed depth to fight for the Baltic states.
