It Was Much Better Than "Cats"

Republicans are making a big deal of the failure of the Obama administration to recognize and prepare for threats to the Benghazi consulate before the 9/11 assault that killed four Americans; as well as the failure to level with the American public over what happened that day.

I'd be inclined to give the Obama administration a pass because when you are at war, you make mistakes. That's war. We endured Pearl Harbor, the fall of the Philippines, Kasserine Pass, and the Ardennes Offensive yet still defeated Italy, Japan, and Germany decisively. Stuff happens.

Except that there are two main differences between now and World War II.

One, I learned from the Iraq War protesters that any mistakes are the result of administration lies and incompetence; and dissent is patriotic, of course.

Two, I grant the benefit of the doubt over mistakes if I think we are trying to win. I don't think the administration even thinks we are at war let alone that we must wage it until victory.

It's just all a lot of shiny objects designed to convince us that their war pageant is much better than Cats.

Good grief, is that Lawrence O'Donnell at the beginning of the video?? Somebody should snap him out of that trance ...
