Don't Bring a Bayonet to a Drone Fight

President Obama's comments about bayonets and horses were not offensive because they weren't basically accurate. The comments were offensive because implying that President Obama is well versed in military matters because he knows bayonets and horses are no longer primary weapons is ridiculous.

By mocking the president on this, and implying that the odd use of horse-mounted special forces in Afghanistan and the continued used of bayonets are really the leading edge of military force, aren't defenders of the military giving the president an excuse to cancel advanced weapon systems in favor of horses and bayonets?

We need advanced weapons. Don't give our CINC any more odd ideas than he has.
