We are fighting unlawful combatants in the Afghanistan War. They do not obey the laws of warfare in many areas. So why does the Army put Red Crosses on unarmed medevac helicopters that just tell our enemies that it is safe to shoot at the helicopters? I know that in theory this is supposed to allow honorable enemies to recognize that the helicopters are not lawful targets. But who are we fighting? Oh yeah, jihadi nutball terrorists who don't obey the laws of war.
Michael Yon is getting grief for bringing up the issue. He should get a medal. Tip to Instapundit.
Yon actually wants us to win the war. That's a lot more than can be said of a lot of other journalists who write about the war.
