As much as I fear that Iran disregards our efforts to stop them from going nuclear, I retain hope that our military has developed tools to allow us to shield our nearby forces and allies from Iran's new nuclear arsenal--whenever they get it--while we launch an offensive campaign to disarm them.
This has the advantage of letting Iran announce their new capability without having to explain whether we have a "slam dunk" assessment that Iran is nuclear; while making sure that we only have to worry about stopping a nuclear missiles for a short period.
I just can't believe we'd think we can deter these nutballs. But maybe I'm too much of an optimist.
As a bonus, President Obama already got the Nobel Peace Prize I mentioned.
