A successful woman who made it on her own and not as the result of inherited (from a husband or father) wealth, marriage, or family connections:
Sarah Palin is the emblem of what feminism was supposed to be all about: an unafraid, independent, audacious woman, who soared on her own merits without the aid of a patriarchal jumpstart, high-brow matrimonial tutelage and capital, and old-boy liaisons and networking.
And liberals and feminists hate her with a passion they could never work up about jihadists on the morning of 9/11. It's a funny world we live in.
