Still, we appear to be making progress. The ideas common when I was in college that the Soviet Union was no more or no less guilty than America in the Cold War is fading as old Soviet archives are explored.

The Soviets were out to get us, and we were right to resist them. And we who said so weren't paranoids with an inordinate fear of communism.

Now about that Islamophobia charge ...
