Opportunity or Crisis?

Southern Sudan has clearly voted for independence:

With 3,197,038 ballots counted, 98.6% had voted to break away in the January 9-15 referendum and become the world's newest nation, partial results posted on the Southern Sudan Referendum Commission website showed.

Final results won't be released until February 14th.

Other African nations are looking on with worry.

But after decades of blaming 19th century European imperialists for drawing bad borders that hamper their development, it is time for African rulers to embrace redrawing the borders to fix the problem or stop using the bad borders as an excuse, and move on to making their countries better.
