The sad truth about Russia's ground forces.

Moscow can scrape up small amounts of decent heavy forces from the wreckage of their ground forces to take on weak enemies. I also assume they have some good special forces types along with some capable airborne troops.

But for such a large country, Russia's army is pretty inadequate. You can understand why they want lots of shorter range nukes to defend their border.
