They are certain that jihadis are trying to kill us only because of President Bush's policies. They ignore that jihadis did their share of trying to kill us before 2001, so you've had problems reasoning with them. Whatever the past, they're sure that President Obama, with that middle name of Hussein, will heal the rifts with the Moslem world.
And then I go and read this accusation by al Qaeda's Number 2 man, killing that hope and change buzz:
In the comments, which were posted on a militant Web site and obtained by the SITE Monitoring Service, al-Zawahiri described Israel's actions in Gaza as a "crusade against Islam and Muslims" and called it "Obama's gift to Israel" before he takes office later this month.
"This is Obama whom the American machine of lies tried to portray as the rescuer who will change the policy of America," al-Zawahiri said, according to SITE. "He kills your brothers and sisters in Gaza mercilessly and without affection."
Say it ain't so! Al Qaeda is immune to the soothing balms of hope and change? They hate Obama too?
My God! It's almost as if their hatred for us isn't even our fault at all! It's like it has nothing to do with President Bush at all!
Look, my mockery isn't aimed at Obama, actually, but at his marshmellow-brained supporters who seem to actually believe that hope and change mantra. Obama's security appointments actually do give me some hope that he won't lose a war we are winning. I hope he's smart enough not to change what is working to fight and kill our enemies. I'll withhold judgment for now and wish him the best.
But if I can't mock his idiot minions, is life worth living?
