Personal Drone Protection

Drone protection is getting down to the soldier level. Action leads to reaction. And small, cheap drones will lose their battlefield crown, becoming one more useful weapon--but no longer cheap.

This is interesting:

A company offers the Dronebuster Detect, Track, Identify, Mitigate (DTIM) Kit for soldiers ...

the U.S. Army has recognized the necessity for a soldier-level system that enhances situational awareness and offers reliable protection against hostile drones.

In addition to providing electronic warfare means to counter drones, it can track drones:

The DTI system enhances situational awareness by offering comprehensive detection, tracking, and identification capabilities.

It's nice. But it is not enough. Even if it works as advertised.

If you combine that tracking system with fighter drones as I advocated many years ago in Army magazine, you truly have lifted much of the burden on forward infantry to deal with small drones at the expense of their primary mission of close combat against enemy troops.
