Where the Container Ships Are

Container ships sail around Africa in a very convenient manner.

I suggested that America's military command,* AFRICOM, could use container ships as the basic hulls to build modularized auxiliary cruisers as power projection platforms around the African continent. I thought that enlisting container ships in a paid reserve force could keep a supply of hulls available for AFRICOM in case one or more was needed.

Now just look at the shipping routes that these container ships ply:

Container ships fairly orbit Africa, keeping a potential source of auxiliary cruiser hulls streaming by the region at all times.

*Well, it is more of a military-civilian hybrid compared to other commands, but it is still our command for projecting military power around Africa when needed.
