When Hell is Invaded

The British lost a lot of sailors' lives to ship arms to the odious Soviet Union in World War II in order to defeat Nazi Germany. Get over reluctance to arm the Syrian rebels.

What the Hell? I thought Europeans had more nuance than this:

Britain said on Sunday it and other countries were "very reluctant" to arm rebels in Syria even as it warned that success on the battlefield by forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad was undermining chances of a Geneva peace conference.

Come on, Prime Minister Cameron, you could make at least a favourable reference to the rebels in the House of Commons, couldn't you? Defeat Iran by defeating Assad--and just defeating Assad is a good thing alone, you know.

I know. Our president isn't any better. But nuance doesn't come naturally even for our first European Social Democrat president.
