The Clenched Fist Remains

Iran continues to feed the faltering violence in Iraq:

Lt. Gen. Lloyd Austin says the number of weapons found on the battlefield has decreased thanks to better Iraqi control of the borders and U.S.-Iraqi military operations. He says "those activities have paid great dividends."

But he says American forces have found recently made rockets and mortars in Iraq and "that leads us to believe that support activity is still ongoing."

He also told reporters Wednesday that some extremists who fled to Iran have returned and been captured.

I'm sure that these are from the pre-clenched fist days era before American-Islamic respectful relations blossomed last month.

I mean, it would have to be! Otherwise we might have to reconsider whether the soothing balms of hope and change have any effect at all on the Iranian mullahs!
