Distracted to Decimated

NPR reports:

CIA-directed airstrikes against al-Qaida leaders and facilities in Pakistan over the past six to nine months have been so successful, according to senior U.S. officials, that it is now possible to foresee a "complete al-Qaida defeat" in the mountainous region along the border with Afghanistan.

The officials say the terrorist network's leadership cadre has been "decimated," with up to a dozen senior and midlevel operatives killed as a result of the strikes and the remaining leaders reeling from the repeated attacks.

After years of claiming the fight in Iraq distracted us from fighting in Afghanistan, and before we can devote more troops to Afghanistan, we've decimated al Qaeda's leadership cadre? Wow. Two Predator strikes under the Obama administration have like totally reversed the impending defeat that the Left has predicted since May 2003!

Hey, I should be grateful NPR is cheerleading the war rather than turning on it. Although I'm sure that will come--the war has the fatal flaw from the Leftist point of view that Americans are fighting it. No self-respecting Leftist can support a war under those circumstances!
