This time he casts his gaze and the powers of his giant, nuanced brain at the Arab Spring and explains that autocrats could not hold down the people forever--but that there is no guarantee that something better will emerge because the autocrats smashed alternatives to their rule and only Islamists endured under the autocrats.

Personally, I think he's just preparing another book based around a bumper sticker notion. I'm guessing the new book will be called "The Lexus Was Totaled When It Smashed Into the Olive Tree."
