Thank You Tom!

Thomas Friedman continues his exploration of the obvious.

This time he casts his gaze and the powers of his giant, nuanced brain at the Arab Spring and explains that autocrats could not hold down the people forever--but that there is no guarantee that something better will emerge because the autocrats smashed alternatives to their rule and only Islamists endured under the autocrats.

Thanks, Tom. Glad we finally have that down.

Personally, I think he's just preparing another book based around a bumper sticker notion. I'm guessing the new book will be called "The Lexus Was Totaled When It Smashed Into the Olive Tree."

So don't waste your free monthly allotment of NYT articles to read this piece. I saved you the effort.

No, really, you're welcome. I am a masochistic man, apparently.
