Strangely Symbolic?

In an age when American sophisticates ignore the inherent brutality of China's communist regime to extol their reasonably enlightened attitudes toward green energy technology and issues, this seems like an appropriate illustration of today's supposedly environmentally friendly China:

Watermelons have been bursting by the score in eastern China after farmers gave them overdoses of growth chemicals during wet weather, creating what state media called fields of "land mines."

The outer green veneer explodes because of lousy decisions, revealing the basic red content beneath it. Yep, that's a fitting image.
