Mobilization

I've already noted that the fighting over Hizbollah in Lebanon could spin out of control.

Well, as I noted, Israel is mobilizing troops (via Real Clear Politics):

The IDF on Sunday mobilized a reserve infantry division in preparation for a possible ground incursion into south Lebanon, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

And so is Syria:

Meanwhile, Al-Arabiya television reported that the Syrian military was mobilizing its own reserve divisions.

If Syria is mobilizing divisions, Israel will need to mobilize tank divisions and not just a single infantry division to fight Hizbollah.

And then the price of miscalculation goes up.

UPDATE: After reading another story that said Israel was mobilizing three brigades (three per division), I read another story on Wednesday that said Israel is mobilizing three battalions (three per brigade). So this is not a major mobilization for a general war against Syria. If the story represents the whole mobilization story, of course. And I need to read something about what Syria is mobilizing.
