Al-Ani [of the Accordance Front, the main Sunni Arab coalition] said his delegation asked Barzani to "put pressure on other parties" to meet Sunni demands for greater minority rights.Remember how the Shias and Kurds were treated when they had the poor hand:
The Sunnis are demanding that voting be held again in some provinces, including Baghdad — the country's largest with 59 seats in parliament.
Sunnis also are seeking Kurdish help in pressuring Shiites to accept amendments to the constitution adopted by national referendum in October, including a provision that keeps the central government weak in favor of strong provincial governments.
"As you work with the victims, especially the children -- their clothing, the baby bottle, the little shoes, just like the ones we bought for our daughters years ago, the little hands, so expressive in death -- you have to try not to get into the heads of the monsters who did this, or it becomes overwhelming. You look at a perfectly knitted baby bonnet with two bullet holes in it, and you think, these could be your own kids."
The Sunnis need to shut the hell up and remember who they are and what they did. They've gotten a far better deal than they ever gave.
