Of Course You Realize, This Means Warm

Tim Blair notes this hilarity:

A German entrepreneur is bypassing a European Union ban on light bulbs of more than 60 watts by marketing his own brand as mini heaters.

Siegfried Rotthaeuser and his brother-in-law have come up with a legal way of importing and distributing 75 and 100 watt light bulbs – by producing them in China, importing them as “small heating devices” and selling them as “heatballs” …

That's really funny. Of course, this just means the green rulers will impose more regulations to stop this valiant effort to escape the tyranny of petty rules.

Eventually, as nimble individuals find loopholes, those elites will tire of the game and abandon all pretense of rule of law and just confiscate the bulbs no matter what the law is.

UPDATE: Thanks to Mad Minerva for the hat tip. And remember, I do need the 100 watt heatballs for my daughter's Easy Bake oven ...
