A United States think tank wants America to stretch Chinese military capabilities to prevent China from deploying decisive power at targets that will harm American power.
“The United States and its partners should pursue strategies that compel Beijing to spread scarce resources across the near seas, far seas and, to the extent possible, the continental periphery,” the report said.
I've long called for exactly that and noted that China faces many threats besides America around its periphery.
China is not destined to win it all. Focus on what we can do to harm them and avoid getting overly fixated on what they can do to harm us. That think tank proposal is a good start.
