A Further Opening Measure

For China's special forces, it will be a little easier to check out Taiwan now:

Taiwan is expected to lift its decades-old ban on visits by individual Chinese tourists from April in yet another sign of the island's fast-warming ties with China, officials and local media said Sunday.

Some of these will be special forces guys who can prepare for a mission of prying open Taiwan for conventional forces to invade.

Oh, and the group tour daily limit from China has been increased to 4,000.

One can hope that by being open to Chinese tourists, Taiwan in practice wages information warfare that persuades more Chinese that Taiwan should not be invaded. Whether that outweighs the practical information that Chinese troops and agents can acquire from this effort, and the possibility of shipping in the first wave of an invasion as tourists remains to be seen.
