Who Will Bell the Cat?

Zimbabwe under Mugabe is a cesspool of grinding poverty, despotism, and a bright future plundered by greed and hate.

President Bush has called on Mugabe to at long last step down. The African Union won't take any steps to encourage or force Mugabe to go:

The African Union rejected tougher action against Zimbabwe on Tuesday and said only dialogue could solve the deepening crisis, while U.S. President George W. Bush joined calls for President Robert Mugabe to step down.

The Dictator Mutual Protection Society that the AU actually is could never set the precedent of calling for a dictator to go. Who among them would be next?

I suppose we could take action. But the contemptible human rights movement would surely disapprove since we only make things worse, right?

Let the human rights industry save Zimbabwe. They care, damn it!
