Seriously? The Russians Might Release Poseidon?

Russia has built a bus-sized swimming nuclear BS machine.

 Be afraid. Be very afraid:

The Poseidon weapon, described in U.S. Navy documents as an Intercontinental Nuclear-Powered Nuclear-Armed Autonomous Torpedo, will require new bases and facilities and new images, which gives hints as to where and how the Russian Navy could use the new weapons. ...[*]

Observation of facilities such as the new quay will build a picture of the Russian Navy’s new capabilities. It also shows the massive cost of the program, requiring new support infrastructure and an array of test ships and submarines.

So Russia needs to find the money for new bases and facilities for their intercontinental nuclear torpedo? "Massive" amounts. Like that will happen!

I haven't been this frightened since "Checkmate".

And even if the Russians build the bases and facilities, so what? The Poseidon is a silly weapon and the Russians must laugh that we take it seriously:

Excuse me if I don't wet my pants in fear. Laughter, perhaps. But fear? I doubt the Russians will waste money on this nuclear torpedo and a submarine to carry them. Why would they when a nuclear attack on America whether by torpedo or missile will trigger American nuclear retaliation?

I can't see our military getting worked up into wasting money on this small addition--if it works--to Russia's large nuclear arsenal.

And if they do build this, what does it say about the reliability of Russia's large ICBM force that supposedly deters American nuclear attack now?

I am seriously perplexed that any defense writer could worry about this silly weapon--one calling it "terrifying":

Poseidon is massive — and basing the torpedo on the ocean floor could make it impossible to stop.

Aren't Russia's many ICBMs already impossible to stop?

I worry about many threats. The Kraken is not one of them.

But perhaps if the Russians built a large wooden nuclear badger ...

*Something was garbled in that first sentence after being translated from the original bullshit. Mind you, I've done that here while starting to change a sentence structure but not completing it. So no judging. I assume that it should read "The Poseidon weapon, described in U.S. Navy documents as an Intercontinental Nuclear-Powered Nuclear-Armed Autonomous Torpedo, will require new bases and facilities. New images give hints as to where and how the Russian Navy could use the new weapons."
