I'm sick of people defending Biden's debacle in Afghanistan by saying running and losing was the only alternative to a "forever war."
That bullshit argument about an endless war rests on people not noticing that we weren't at war in Afghanistan:
I'm not the only one to notice that we really aren't in "endless wars" in Iraq and Afghanistan any more. What we are doing is committing troops and money (and yes, occasional casualties) to defend what we achieved.
We did not defend what we achieved in Afghanistan--an imperfect ally that killed jihadis every day with our support. This needless defeat is a disgrace.
We've defended military victory in Japan, Germany, Italy, Britain, South Korea, Kosovo, and Kuwait. And even in Iraq after a short absence that led to disaster until Obama renewed our role to reverse that defeat.
And in general, when you look at Afghanistan as a campaign in the war on jihadi terrorists, you have to remember that our scum enemy have decided that their jihad must be a forever war until either we are dead or they are dead.
Don't buy the administration line and their media enabler cheerleading. Just because the pile of manure is huge doesn't mean there must be a pony in there somewhere.
UPDATE: Oh, and we are defending victory in the Cold War by deploying troops into the new NATO states that broke away from the Soviet empire.
