An army spokesman in Jordan says border police have arrested smugglers trying to sneak in a large cache of arms from neighboring Syria.
The weapons included "machine guns" and the smugglers were Jordanians and other Arab nationalities. The articles focuses on al Qaeda either trying to expand the war to Jordan or trying to find a refuge in Jordan to create a rear area for the fight in Syria.
The idea that Assad might try to destabilize the southern front against Assad is not mentioned.
Machine guns seems odd. But perhaps they just mean assault rifles. Lord knows, reporters often don't know the difference.
