Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe has urged security forces to be on high alert to thwart alleged attempts by Britain to topple his government through the opposition, state media reported Friday.
We'll leave aside the obvious response that Mugabe deserves to be toppled after his long and disastrous mis-rule.
Instead, I will note that Mugabe will remain loved by the Left based on his initial opposiiton to the white minority rulers of Rhodesia. He can do no wrong in their eyes. Anti-colonialism trumps all--forever.
The Left may earnestly believe the curtain of despotism is always about to descend in America, but it always seems to drop elsewhere.
