When I posted recently on the replacement of the Japan-based USS Kittyhawk with a nuclear-powered carrier, I didn't really take note of the date.
Replacement will take place in 2008.
Given that I think China could very well be planning to strike Taiwan in early 2008 on the eve of the Peking Summer Olympics, will this carrier replacement include a period where both carriers are operational in the Western Pacific in about the first half of the year?
If so, that would complicate Chinese planning to invade immensely. If they would do such a thing, of course.
