The Reality-Based Community is Born

Even the Arab world is tiring of the notion that no peace effort in the Middle East can be addressed without "solving" the Palestinian issue first:

In a surprise that experts didn’t see coming, most Arabs in countries that would be affected by President Trump’s Middle East peace plan endorse the pathway to normalized relations with Israel.

In the survey, a remarkable 7 in 10 people in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Jordan said they also feel that normalization is coming despite what Palestinian leaders do to resist peace with the Jewish state.

The Palestinian leadership proved to be self-serving corrupt monsters who rejected real efforts that could have gotten Palestinians a state in order to maintain their hold on extorted money from abroad.

I did mention that the Palestinians lost their crown as Queen of the Victim Prom.

So now the Arab world seems to be coming to the conclusion that "solving" the Palestinian problem first is folly because the Palestinians are their own worst enemy.

Maybe the only way to solve it is to rub the noses of Palestinians into the pile of feces that their leadership is in order to pressure the leaders to cut the best deal they can with Israel without insisting that the Arab world fight, die, and impoverish itself in order to destroy Israel and give the Palestinian leadership the only resolution they think is adequate:

Asked if the recent peace deal signed between the UAE and Bahrain with Israel helped the process, [Saudi Foreign Minister] Prince Faisal said it “does help lay the groundwork” to get the Palestinians and Israelis back to the negotiating table.

Prince Faisal noted that getting Israel to take “annexation off the table for the time being” was one of the positives of the Abraham Accords. But he added that more work is needed. “The important thing is to get them on the table.”

The clock is ticking for the Palestinians. Arab leaders want to solve the Palestinian problem. But the Palestinians have to actually deal because annexation is only off the table for the time being. So Palestinians had best get moving.

UPDATE: Sudan will establish diplomatic relations with Israel.
