Would the Space Force patrol the Moon? Of course it would. When it can. Why is this a question?
As I've argued, a Space Navy (or a true Space Force) has to wait until we move beyond the Earth-Moon System. Of course, that's part of why I'd prefer an Aerospace Force that fights for the atmosphere over the Earth but includes the space near the Earth--including the Moon.
And it's kind of cute to read that because fighting in orbital space would be so disastrous for those on Earth that it should not be contemplated. Since when has cost stopped people from fighting?
Even if it is a disaster, somebody will think they have a way to do it cheaply and if nobody stops them, they'll win.
Even if that win ends up being a disaster for their own space assets too, we have farther to drop so it would level the playing field and at least be a tactical victory that will influence the war.
