The More Things Change

Germany loudly insists it shouldn't spend more on defense because of their horrible Holocaust-filled Nazi past:

Seriously, is German unwillingness to pay for common defense in line with their economic status so strong that the Germans are willing to argue that they are barely suppressed Nazis at heart despite 70+ years of being part of the West with freedom and democracy?

If the Germans say they aren't to be trusted with sharp knives and actually believe it is true, maybe NATO and Russia should just pull back a safe distance and nuke the place just to be sure.

And, Germany will spend more to support Palestinians who dream of killing all of the Jews of Israel:

The German government has pledged to significantly increase its funding for the U.N. agency that supports Palestinian refugees after the United States cut its aid. ...

It is part of a broader push by [German Foreign Minister] Maas to take a more assertive stance in disagreements with the United States on a range of issues including trade, military spending and climate change.

So Germany has problems with America and in response the Germans have decided to punish the Jews.

I will just never get the concept of sophisticated European nuance.

Maybe the Germans are right about their history. Perhaps we really should just pull back a safe distance and nuke the place from orbit.

Say, we do have a United States Space Force forming, now don't we?

I just want to know what the heck has happened to our once mostly solid German ally from the Cold War?
