Sweden’s government is examining a proposal to boost military spending to defend its own territories and the strategic Baltic Sea area in the face of renewed Russian aggression in Ukraine. There is also a movement among high government officials to re-examine the long-running issue of joining NATO.
In addition to helping with the defense of Norway, the addition of Sweden will be a welcome base of support to defend the Baltic NATO states of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
A future NATO Finland would also benefit from Sweden's membership in NATO.
And help in isolating Russia's Kaliningrad enclave.
Remember, Sweden is small but they build outstanding weapons, and have long mastered modern combat aircraft technology--an ability that China has not yet fully mastered.
I'd be happy to have Sweden as a NATO member.
