Loyalists of Assad met in Damascus. I don't think the script was followed:

Syrian regime loyalists meeting in Damascus are urging President Bashar Assad to undertake political reforms and speak to demonstrators staging a revolt against their government.

"Jittery" staff, per the article, cut the power which prompted the attendees to leave the hotel where the meeting was taking place.

How long can cutting the power keep the ranks in line?
